“What do you want? Do you want to break up? Tell me what you want to do” She typed so quickly on her phone. She had no patience to read over her words. They just flowed.
“I want to end this. I’m breaking up with you” He typed back, almost immediately
“Fine” She gave up
“Nkem” He replied
“Don’t you dare say that!” Now she was mad
“Okay! Fine. Good bye!” He finally said
There were no tears left to shed. All she wanted to do was to be strong for herself, to prove to everyone, including herself that she needed him not. Oh how she lied……
Few weeks later
She just had to prepare herself and her mind for what was to happen that day.
“I hope he sees how much I love him once I give him my all, including this body” She thought as she smacked the lip stick on her lips. She was ready
There was hardly any talk between the two partners, but she was fine with that. She let her body speak volumes, but he was deaf to all the love she tried to express with her body
“Is this lust or love?” She had to ask while she was still so close to him
“I don’t know, it’s more lust than love” He didn’t hesitate to shatter all hopes she ever had
“Oh. Okay” She couldn’t feel more ashamed
He said nothing to her while she walked out his door, but then she wanted to know
“How did it feel?”
“Great. It felt good” He responded over the phone
“Oh okay”
“I mean. You usually don’t let me touch you that way, so I felt bad after you left” He finally admitted
She felt like trash, like some misused pit latrine. “Yeah”
“It would never happen again” She said to herself while she mourned her loss.
10 months later
“We aren’t dating you know” She said to her ex as he tried to make-out with her
“We weren’t dating then” He replied, while he tried to woo the same girl he had played with 10 months ago
“And it killed me” She forced those words out of her lips. She wished she could say much more, but she was too damn hurt to expose her feelings. Nevertheless, she wasn’t about to be the fool twice
“I’m not doing anything” He later said
All she could think about was how much she wanted his love, not his body
